The Truth About Life As An RTT Therapist
The Truth About Life As An RTT Therapist

Why do I think that being a therapist is the best job in the world?
I've been a therapist for 33 years, which is a long time, but I've never ever wanted to do anything else. I've been offered jobs on TV, presenting work and all kinds of other things, but all I've ever wanted to be was a therapist. I don't think I ever will retire, as I love it so much.
Why do I love it so much? Every day I wake up to letters from people saying, "You know, you just changed my life." That's why it's amazing to be a therapist. It's the letters you get, the feedback, the pictures that say, "This is the baby I thought I would never have." "This is the marriage ...", "This is the career ...", "This is the promotion ...", "This is the life I thought I would never have..." We change people's lives.
That's why I love being a therapist, it makes my heart sing, I never ever get bored with it. Changing people’s lives for the better, really is the most rewarding and fulfilling job in the world, wouldn’t you agree?
What is it like to be a therapist?
So what it's like to be a therapist? Every day you wake up with meaning and purpose. I never think, "Oh, I've got to go to work today, I wish I could have a day off." I can't wait to go to work. Every time I see a client, it's almost like I get to see the movie of their life and change it. To make it better.
It's the ability to change someone's life that makes being an RTT therapist amazing, but there are lots of other bonuses too. I work for myself. I choose my own hours. I work when I want. I was a single parent and it was such a gift to me being a therapist. I could work around my daughter's needs. I took her to school, I picked her up. I was at every sports day, prize giving, nativity play, because I could work around her hours.
As an RTT Therapist you don't have a boss, you are your own boss. You get to work your own hours, set your own fees. I get to travel all over the world seeing clients and making a difference. I love being a therapist and now I also really love all the people I train saying, "Wow, this really is the best job in the world."
In answers to your questions from Ask Marisa Anything...
Daniel was wanting to know “What can you charge as an RTT therapist?”
The freedom of working your own way, charging the fees that you want is wonderful. We had a girl recently who'd trained with us, she said, "You know what? I've made more money in one month than I used to make in a whole year and I don't have to commute, I do this from my kitchen table."
It's very normal to start off charging around $250 and then you can increase your fees as you specialize and gain more experience. We have never had anyone yet say, "This is not good value for money." I know people may say, "But there's a therapist up the road from me and they charge $60 a session." I don't doubt it, and they probably make you have 10 sessions, which is $600. Of course, it isn't just the 10 sessions, it's the time off work, the commute, the time out of your diary. Rapid Transformational Therapy is exactly that - rapid and it's so incredibly transformational we often get lasting results from just one session.
We find that people who have been considering IVF, costing circa $10,000, think that $250 for an RTT session that gets results is amazing. People who are about to have a gastric band, or who are paying Weight Watchers every month, find RTT a bargain. In fact, one of our graduates recently did an online session with someone and said, "You've paid me twice." He said, "I would have paid you three times. It was so worth it."
What about the training?
RTT training is recognised as being of the highest educational standard and has won multiple awards for its hands-on practical approach.
I’ve been told that the training itself is worth the money alone, just to experience the live demonstrations. Last year a girl called Laura came to one of my courses in a wheelchair. She said “I've been condemned to a life of pain. I've been told I'll never get out of the wheelchair and I've got to take painkillers for the rest of my life." I invited her to do a live demonstration on stage as part of my training and an hour and a half later, she was out of that wheelchair. You can watch her story for yourself here.
Laura came to my ‘Audience with Marisa’ last week to report back on her experience. She came onstage and said, "You know, I would have still been in that wheelchair taking painkillers every day. No drugs, no doctor, no physio did what you have done."
It’s not magic, it’s science.
You might think, "Well, this all sounds woo woo and magic and weird." However, it's not woo woo, RTT is based on science.
This is a scientific way of making people well. Neuroplasticity is a science. We work with neuroscience, firing, wiring and installing healthy neurons and neural pathways, while dismantling unhealthy ones. We've had massive success with headaches, stutters, stammers, Crohn's disease, and resolved so many client issues. Watch for yourself a Live RTT demonstration with Angie, who had cerebral Palsy.
Rebecca was asking about the payment plans for training in RTT.
I suggest that you speak to one of our team members, who will be able to tell you everything about pricing and payment plans. They'll give you all of your options and really go through whether you're right for RTT and whether RTT's right for you. If you have any questions about RTT training, please do book a call.
What’s the single best thing about being an RTT therapist?
Without question, it’s the difference you make in people's lives. We all want to change the world, but that's a big ask. However, if you can change people, if you can change one heart and one soul at a time, then you are changing the world.
You can think, "Wow, I've done something amazing. I make people happy. I make people better." If you can make people happy and make people better, isn’t that an amazing thing?
