Sally Garozzo overcame fear and anxiety with RTT and her “whole life changed.”

Sally Garozzo is a Rapid Transformational Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist. She was the founder of Inspiring Talks Brighton and has a been a singing coach since 2000.

Sally shares that she is hugely passionate about innovative approaches to health and wellbeing, especially those rooted in neuroscience. She has first-hand experience with dissolving personal challenges, such as chronic anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress and burnout, degenerative disc disease, relationship issues, paralysing perfectionism, sugar cravings and co-dependency.

Sally says her mission in life is to help people cultivate the mindset tools they need to feel like they are enough and thrive in this world feeling connected and supported. In this revealing interview Sally opens up about how she overcame fear and chronic anxiety with RTT, to change her life, double her income and feel “so nourished on the inside.”

Please tell us a little about your life before Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™)?

Before I had RTT I let anxiety and fear rule my life. I couldn’t even walk into town without sometimes having to head back home again. I had frequent panic attacks and had to bail from my 40th birthday party because of social anxiety (I was nearly hospitalised as I passed out), it was so humiliating.

I was stressed and highly reactive, especially towards my father. I was very unsettled in my relationship, always thinking the grass was greener on the other side. I was (and still am a private singing teacher), but I wasn’t making much money and I felt sad about that at age 40.

I would have to work long hours which ate into my evenings. I was desperate to be calm, relaxed and fulfilled, but instead I was locked inside my comfort zone unable to feel good about myself. I had so much anger inside me. I was honestly full of self-loathing and used to criticise myself and others all the time. Also I used to perform (singing), but had to stop that too because of anxiety.

How did you discover RTT? Why did you decide to try it?

I put a post on Facebook commenting on the fact that I couldn’t stop eating (you know those random comments you write!) One of my musician friends said “you need to check out Marisa Peer” and she sent me a link to her “The Biggest Disease Affecting Humanity” talk. I was hooked.

Then something was happening in parallel. I knew that my friend (who was also a singing teacher) was doing a hypnotherapy qualification and the idea to study hypnotherapy kept buzzing around my head. I wanted to offer an extra service to my singing students. At this point, I didn’t know that my friend was learning RTT. It wasn’t until I investigated it a bit further, the penny dropped. He was learning RTT and RTT was designed by Marisa Peer! It was one of those light bulb moments. I took it as a sign and so I had an RTT session with Gary and my whole life changed.

I started to understand WHY I had anxiety and issues with food and why I was addicted to relationships. It was linked to having a critical father and other various issues around my childhood. It’s amazing how much impact little things can have on you as a kid.

What else improved? Well, instead of staying fixed inside my comfort zone, I started to flourish. I founded and sold a little side hustle business called Inspiring Talks Brighton, which fed my RTT practice for a while.

Public speaking was one of my big fears, but I overcame that fear by knowing I was enough and that what I had to say was worth listening to. I definitely got back in the saddle of my life, but with more self-worth and self-respect.

What did you most want to achieve from RTT?

For the very first session I had, I wanted a calm nervous system and greater self-esteem, self-worth and confidence. I got that, but since training I’ve worked on so many other issues like money blocks, over-eating, insomnia and relationships.

I wanted an abundance mindset, I wanted the ability to be more calm and surrendered (especially in my relationship), to have a ‘live and let live’ attitude. I wanted to be happy for all my friends and to let go of jealousy. I wanted a more exciting sex life with my partner.

Some of these things are still a work in progress but it’s amazing how much of what I wanted, I’ve got because of RTT and the illuminating concepts within it.

What was your experience of RTT?

I had a paid session and then many others when I was training. I’ve had hypnotherapy before, but I really didn’t feel like I was hypnotised and consequently my attitude towards hypnotherapy was like “hmmm, I’m not convinced.”

However when I had RTT, I KNEW I was hypnotised because the language that is used in RTT is more direct and more commanding. I lovingly call RTT ‘hypnosis on steroids.’ It’s definitely a no BS approach and that’s why I fell in love with it and knew I had to become a therapist. RTT sang to all my values, especially efficiency and effectiveness.

I was a good student and I listened to the recording as instructed. Even today, two and a half years later I still listen to various recordings. The recording is great because you have it for life and you can go back to it whenever you need a top up. It just means you don’t need to keep spending money on weekly therapy!  You also get to have a ‘theta’ nap during the day for 20 mins and as research now shows, this is invaluable for your mental health.

How do you feel now as a result of RTT?

I have had a deep internal shift. I used to be a bit of a relationship addict and would quickly jump ship if something went wrong. However, now I’m finding freedom in my commitment to my partner, so much so that… we are getting married next year.

Every part of my life has changed. I’m so much more ‘in the moment’. I go through life calmer and more accepting of everyone. My income has doubled as a result of becoming a therapist, as well as a singing teacher, and I’m so nourished on the inside because I’m helping people.

I get to learn about all kinds of conditions like OCD, depression, autoimmune diseases, adrenal burnout, infertility, eating disorders….. and I get to help people overcome them. I do public speaking. I do Facebook lives every Monday on my profile to help teach and train people how to use their minds. Plus I’m much more sociable than I ever used to be, because I understand the importance of connection (anxiety really does stem from feeling alone).

On the inside I feel a super sense of satisfaction and confidence because I know how to use my mind. I’m not at the mercy of anxiety, depression and lack of confidence anymore.

How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

RTT is compact therapy. It understands the importance of going to the ‘why,’ which might be a darker space, but then leveraging that emotion to jumpstart a transformation. During the transformation process, specific language is used to help the client realise “oh yeah, that’s not me anymore. I don’t have to be that scared child anymore… I’m grown up now and I’m in charge.” However, because of the EMOTION attached to it, you get change.

The other reason it’s so powerful is because it’s not fluffy. It’s rooted in the science of neuroplasticity, so it works for everyone on many levels.

RTT is a very illuminating process that takes you on a journey, sometimes a roller coaster.    I find that when my clients open their eyes at the end they are like “woah, what just happened… that was amazing.” It’s a fully immersive experience. It’s hard to explain, it’s better to experience for yourself. Just like a good movie, you don’t want any spoilers, it’s best to just trust, have a session and experience it for yourself.
