RTT Comes to Life – Rachel Farnsworth

Rachel Farnsworth is a Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™) practitioner. Her background is in banking, admin and working in a school. She says that she finally found her true purpose to help people when she discovered RTT.

Rachel reflected that she has been co-dependent her entire adult life and always felt she had to put others before herself in order to feel loved and valued. However, she admitted that this made her feel “bent out of shape” and also meant that she fell for toxic relationships.

In this moving interview, Rachel shares her personal experience of how RTT has not only helped her transform her own life, but how she was able to use RTT to help with her daughter’s recovery from Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). Rachel’s beautiful story illustrates how the greatest gift is being able to help those you love achieve life-changing freedom.

Why did you decide to train in Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™)?

I married my second husband in 2015 and by 2017 he was so controlling that my two teenage children decided to leave home and go and live with their dad. I felt like I had had my heart ripped out. The pain and loss I felt was unbearable, because my children are my world. It was why I worked at a secondary school as a First Aider and admin, so that I was available to my children when they needed me. I felt broken when they left.

A friend suggested that I find a new focus, something for me. She knew I loved helping people and suggested finding something in this area that interested me. I found a 3 year counselling course, with the first year being in hypnotherapy. I wasn’t particularly interested in hypnotherapy, or so I thought, but decided to enrol anyway. Our teacher failed to turn up for the second lesson, which made me turn to Google. My search for ‘hypnotherapy’ revealed Marisa Peer and Rapid Transformational Therapy. The more I watched Marisa’s videos and free courses the more I knew I had to train to be a Rapid Transformational Therapy practitioner.

I have to do this… but when..? became my looping thought and it was driving me crazy, so I decided to do both courses simultaneously. My passion for RTT soon became far greater than my hypnotherapy course, because RTT is far more powerful and the results are outstanding.

Why do you think RTT is more powerful than traditional ‘talking therapies’?

RTT is a distinct therapeutic approach utilising hypnotherapy (which means you are relaxed). It uses the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro Linguistic programming (NLP), and psychotherapy. Its unique approach addresses issues on a deep level by accessing the subconscious mind, which is the driver behind behaviours and limiting beliefs. RTT is often affectionately known as ‘hypnotherapy on steroids’ because of the powerful combination of therapies that have a rapid transformational effect. All this transformation happens while you, as the client, are relaxed. It is so powerful, effective and permanent.

How has Rapid Transformational Therapy changed your life?

I used to work in a local secondary school dealing with all the first aid issues that students had. I knew that their physical symptoms of things such as stomach aches and feeling sick were down to feeling anxious, but at that time I did not have the tools to really help them, although instinctively I always encouraged them to think more positively about themselves.

I always enjoyed helping people, but now RTT has given me so much more fulfilment because I have helped people recover from addictions, anxiety, depression, psoriasis, phobias, lack of confidence, sleep issues, weight issues, and so much more. This is what I was born to do.

On a personal level, I have had RTT sessions on increasing my confidence, on being able to speak in public, and healing my eyesight. My vision has gone from minus 6.50 to minus 5.50 in six months (figures are my optical prescription). More importantly, I have used RTT to find out why I have a pattern of narcissistic relationships. That was a very revealing session, which took place 4 months ago. I am now in a loving relationship and I know with certainty that I will never be attracted to toxic relationships again.

Incredibly, I hadn’t realised that one of my limited thought patterns was that ‘love is painful’ until I watched Marisa Peer (founder of RTT) working with another student on relationships. My subconscious mind had picked up this false belief when I was so small, to events that certainly had no bearing in my adult life. Yet here I was still unconsciously believing that belief and still playing it out, feeling that I had to meet everyone else’s needs before my own (making myself a prime target to attract toxic relationships). Part of my message now is to get people to question the beliefs that we took on as children that are no longer relevant to who we are today. Once identified, RTT can quickly help you unpick them by going to the root cause of the issue and putting something far more positive in its place. The process has been likened to weeding the garden and removing the weeds by the roots, so that they can’t grow back, then planting your favourite plants and flowers for a much better look and feel.

I truly believe that going through my own emotional healing allows me to really hold that safe space for my clients. Understanding the shifting of thoughts and beliefs that happens after the session, enables me to be able to give them the support they need, to release themselves from physical and emotional pain.

Tell us how Rapid Transformational Therapy helped your daughter with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA)

My daughter was first diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) when she was just 18 months old. Until JIA affected our family, I had no idea that around 15,000 children and young people are affected by the condition in the UK alone. Like many people, I thought arthritis was something older people had.

For most of her life my daughter has had regular quarterly hospital appointments at our local hospital and Queens Medical Centre Nottingham at the paediatric rheumatoid clinics. She has been on Methotrexate, which is a cancer drug used to suppress the immune system. However, this gave her horrid side effects, such as ‘brain fog’, nausea and she was physically sick at least once a week. She really struggled with symptoms from the drug during the first few days after taking it. Her ability to retain information was affected, so her school work suffered too. She began taking it in tablet form, which then gave her a phobia of taking tablets, so then we had to resort to her self-injecting it. As a mum I dreaded injection day. I would have much preferred to inject myself with it than watch her suffer. Her joints were often puffy and swollen.

One of the first sentences my daughter learnt to say, when she was learning to talk as a baby, was “Mummy, no walk this morning”, meaning that she couldn’t get out of her toddler bed, because her joints were too painful. It absolutely broke my heart to see my wonderful daughter in so much pain. I felt so helpless to do anything about it. I am her mum – I am meant to kiss the hurt away, to make it all better, but I couldn’t. All I could do was to take her to the hospital regularly and watch her self-inject, and to hold her hair when she was being sick.

I was determined to do anything in my power to take the hurt away. However, at that time I had no idea how I was going to achieve it. At the time of my daughter’s initial diagnosis, Coldplay’s song ‘Fix You’ was always playing on the radio. I said a silent promise to her that I would fix her, I had no idea that RTT would hold the key. Every time I hear that song it makes me cry, because I remember how desperately unhappy that time was.

Between the ages of 12-14 my daughter was lucky enough to have gone 2 years with no arthritis flare ups, albeit a drug induced remission, because Methotrexate had held the symptoms at bay. She came off the drug in June 2018 just as I qualified as an RTT practitioner. Just a couple of months later her joints were painful and the specialist was insisting that it was time she goes back on Methotrexate. I asked them to give us a couple of months grace so we could try RTT and they very reluctantly agreed.

The session itself was amazing and her subconscious mind revealed that the pain was there to allow her to connect to others. Her cousins had pain and illness, which needed operations, and her brother had asthma. She has said that in the session she felt JIA leave her. We have continued to have regular check-ups at hospital and in that time she has been drug free. She has now gone a year without medication and her doctor described her joints as “perfect”, when we went back last week.

So, one year on she is pain free, free from blood tests and free of any drugs, including Methotrexate. My daughter is now free to live the life that she was meant to. Her eyes are no longer dull from pain, but bright, shiny and she is energised. She is now able to fully take part in all physical activity that she couldn’t before, such as PE at school. She was climbing a steep hill on holiday this summer and she commented that previously she had believed that everyone else had the same pain as she experienced, but they were just better than her at pushing through that pain. I guess if you have been in pain all your life it is your ‘normal’.

There is truly no greater gift than being able to help my own child in this way. Thank you Marisa Peer for your awesome gift that is Rapid Transformational Therapy I really don’t have the words to express my gratitude fully.
