How to Make 2020 Your Happiest New Year

Christmas is a time of giving. Giving, giving, giving...
In fact. many people end up giving so much, that they start the New Year running on empty - physically, emotionally and financially.
Whilst we all love to give and generosity is important, we also have to give to ourselves. Give yourself a break! Give yourself permission to take some time out of the busy chaos, just to reflect, restore and realign with what matters most. It could be the most important gift you give this year.
The best gift you can give for 2020
Giving yourself time, space and permission to simply be is the best gift you can give. Many people think that needing to take some time out could be considered selfish. It’s actually quite the opposite. Investing in yourself has a ripple effect out to everyone around you. When you are happy, calm and confident, those around you will feel it too. By improving your own life, you also improve those of the ones you care about.
Deep breath in…. And breath out…
As Marisa Peer famously teaches, imagine giving and receiving are an exchange of energy, like breathing in and out. You cannot exclusively breathe out, like giving giving giving all your energy out. Eventually, you will need to also breathe in and receive air, otherwise, you will collapse in a heap. Equally, you cannot only receive by breathing in until you explode, you have to eventually release the air, to give out the energy you have received.
The good news is that, just like breathing, you do not need anyone else to give you the breath of life, you can give it to yourself. Oxygen is abundant, it is all around us all the time. When you breathe and take in oxygen, it doesn’t mean that there is any less for anyone else. It’s the same with many things, despite the fears of scarcity and the pressures to be the best and have the best. When we take time out to focus on what matters most, we actually create more time for what matters most. The more love you give to yourself, the more love you will have for others.
Learn to Love Yourself
